Introduction and History of Bordoodle

The Bordoodle dog fondly referred to as Borpoo is a hybrid, designer dog breed. It is known to be a cross between the highly intelligent Border Collie and the friendly Poodle dogs. In fact, both of its parent breeds are the top-2 intelligent breeds in the world.

The Poodle dogs trace their origins all the way back to the Egyptian and Roman civilizations. But it was the French and Germans breeders that popularized and transformed them into the modern poodles we know and love today. They are now considered a German dog breed.

Features

It would not be incorrect to call the Bordoodle a dog version of a tiny Teddy Bear because the breed is famous for many things including its furry cuteness. So, here’s a list of common features a Bordoodle is more likely to have

Borrowing the soft, wavy, and long coat of the Collie, as well as, the curls of the Poodle, the Bordoodle dog is a medium-sized breed between 12 to 22 inches tall.
The Bordoodle has a beautiful, low shedding coat that comes in many colors including a combination of black, brown, and white.
They have small button-like black or brown eyes and medium-sized ears that can be seen to flop on either side
The Bordoodle’s nose is small, black, and triangular, quite similar to that of the Border Collie.

Temperament

Moreover, you should feed your pups no more than 3 cups of dry food a day, divided into portioned two-time meals. This will help not only improve the dog’s digestion but also reduce the chances of overfeeding.

While the average Bordoodle has a life expectancy of 15 years, this can be significantly reduced due to problems such as Hip Dysplasia (a common joint misalignment), as well as, Epilepsy.
